Every estate has hidden value (jewelry tucked in dresser drawers, war medals, sentimental photos), donate-able items, recyclables, and pure trash — all mixed together. Most haulers don't sort. They just bag and dump. You can lose irreplaceable items in 30 seconds.

How we handle it

We sort everything we touch. Photos, documents, jewelry, and anything that looks personal goes in a separate box for the family to review before we leave. Furniture and clothing in good shape get donated with receipts so you can claim the deduction. The rest is hauled and disposed responsibly. We work in 2-3 day blocks for typical homes.

How long does a typical estate cleanout take?
3-bedroom home: usually 2-3 days. Small condos: often 1 day. Hoarding situations or larger estates: a week or more.
Can you provide a tax-deductible donation receipt?
Yes. We use Father Joe's Villages, Salvation Army, and Habitat ReStore — all provide itemized receipts for goods we drop off on your behalf.
